Description

The Triumph Herald was a small two-door car introduced in 1959 by the Standard-Triumph Company of Coventry.
The company manufactured five types of car: saloon, convertible, coupe, van, and an estate.
An Italian stylist, Giovanni Michelotti was hired by the Standard-Triumph board to style the car. He produced designs for the two-door saloon with a large glass area.
The style was an immediate hit and celebrities, including John Lennon and presenter Katie Boyle, were quick to be pictured in the 'Style car' of the decade.
The car was also used in numerous fashion shoots in the 1950s and even as a police car.
